The outer frame is made of dimensionally stable and weatherproof ASA plastic, which allows for secure bonding and sealing during installation. The control knob is positioned on the side to ensure that the entire opening remains clear. When closed, Thule portholes provide 100 cm² of continuous forced ventilation. During development, special attention was paid to low power consumption (0.15-2.5 amps) and quiet operation, even at high speeds; an additional spoiler is unnecessary due to their aerodynamic shape. The recessed hinge with continuous track and highly projecting outer shell allow optimal rainwater runoff. Manual models are equipped with a mosquito net, and the blackout blind, standard on all models, can be opened in three positions. The porthole fan version offers six ventilation and exhaust settings, an energy-saving function, and a comfort mode, with a maximum air circulation of 20 m³/min. The ventilation kit can be installed on all existing Thule portlights. Thanks to the perfect screw fastening system, the portlight can be installed without additional screws going through the outer wall; this offers the best guarantee against water infiltration.
Installation dimensions 40 x 40 cm, inner frame 45.8 x 46.2 cm, outer dimensions 45.9 x 47.2 cm. The height of the closed porthole is 7.8 cm. Thule rooflights are suitable for roof thicknesses from 25 to 60 mm (kit, item no. 89 342, is needed for roof thicknesses from 40 mm and up). Materials: ASA outer frame, polystyrene inner frame, ABS roller blind frame; polypropylene canopy.
