Water pumps are intended to ensure a constant flow of water for the uses of your recreational vehicle. The pump draws water from the tank and sends it to the sink, sink, bath or shower.
Pumps are divided into three categories:
- Pressure pumps, also called automatic, pressure switch or self-priming or diaphragm pumps. These pumps start automatically when a tap or use is opened. The pressure switch mounted on the pump detects the pressure drop and activates the pump. These pumps can be mounted in any position, even far from the tank and uses; they are noisier than immersion ones. This type of pump can work combined with an expansion vessel so that a constant pressure is maintained in the system and there are no annoying flow interruptions.
- Inline pumps. They are mounted in a favorable point of the water system and are to be used in case of a tank size that does not allow the immersion pump to be inserted inside.
- Immersion or submersible pumps . These are the pumps that are inside the tank or tank and therefore do not have prevalence problems. When you open a tap, equipped with a microswitch, the pump is activated and receives power. Very quiet. These pumps have a reduced operating pressure and must be combined with specific taps.
RV pumps are characterized by:
- Pressure in bar or Psi
- Flow in liters per minute (higher flow, higher comfort, but higher water consumption)
- Consumption in W (related to flow and pressure)
- Reliability
